(Temporary in the first instance- 1 Year)

We are looking for an Apprentice Early Years Practitioner to join our fantastic Early Years team at Willowcroft Community School.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support our Teachers to take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, maximising children’s achievement, and ability to develop.

This is a great opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is looking to start their career in Education and is motivated to inspire learning in young children. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

Quality is always top of our agenda and we pride ourselves on the quality of what we do. We are looking for an apprentice to work in our Reception Year team, building positive relationships with children promoting positive interaction and learning.

Whilst some previous experience of caring for children would be preferable, excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.

Support and supervision will be provided to the successful candidate.

We need people who share our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people to be happy and successful.

Educated to GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent), you will be calm, engaging, resilient, enjoy working as part of a team, and be genuinely motivated by helping every child to reach their potential.

About us:

We can offer you an opportunity to work in a forward thinking and supportive school which encourages staff professional development, including further training within your role and the opportunity to train to become a teacher while working in school.

We place a high value on staff welfare and well-being which includes support such as reduced cost child care, higher priority for Willowcroft school admissions and family friendly policies.

Willowcroft is proud to be part of the Oxfordshire Primary Education Network (OPEN) an innovative group of schools working together to provide the highest quality of education for all our pupils.

Willowcroft School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All candidates will be requested to complete a DBS check and references will be required in line with our safeguarding policy.
