Pupil Leadership
At Willowcroft Community School, we recognise that our children are the leaders of the future and therefore provide a range of opportunities for children to develop their leadership skills. We truly believe our children have the power to change the world and this is promoted through our LEAP curriculum.
Children’s voice is valued and promoted – each academic year, our children are given a platform to express the views of their school to help shape its development. We encourage all of our pupils to embrace the wide range of opportunities available to them – and always seek to find new ways that we can further empower them. This enables our children to develop as individuals, as a community and grow the school as a whole.
We have developed a range of leadership opportunities for our children. For some of our leadership positions, children are elected by their peers through a democratic process. Others require children to apply for posts either through a written letter of application, giving a presentation or going through an interview process.
A Welcome from our Head Boys and Head Girls:
Hello we are incredibly proud to be the head boys and head girls of Willowcroft School for 2024-2025. We pride ourselves on being role models to other students in our school, both in terms of character and behaviour. If you come into school for a visit, we would love to show you around and talk to your about our learning here.
There are videos below of the speeches we made when we applied for these roles.
Meet our Children's Leadership Team for 2024-2025:
Hi we are the CLT for this academic year. We are excited to work closely with the SLT team in order to make big decisions for the school. We will be inputting into the school's RAP (Raising Achievement Plan) and ensuring that pupil voice is heard when SLT make decisions with this.

Meet our Eco-Leaders for 2024-2025:
Hi we are the eco-leaders and we work together to think of ways that everyone in school can help the environment. Last year, we were presented with an award for becoming an eco school. Things we did to achieve this include: every year group completing a litter picking session; 'Cut Your Carbon' which involved eating healthy food and spending less time on screens; and we delivered various assemblies to raise awareness of the affect of actions in our daily lives on the environment. This year, we hope to continue with this. One of our aims is to build bug houses for birds to live in.
