Online Smart School Council at Willowcroft

Here at Willowcroft our school council is pupil led, inclusive and involves everyone in democracy. We believe that every pupils voice is important and our online school platform gives all children the same opportunity to be heard. We believe our children have the power to change the world and through our LEAP curriculum and Smart School Council, ALL children are given the opportunity to implement change.

The children hold class meetings each week that discuss and consider issues that have been raised by the pupils across the school. Although we are still in the early stages of establishing or communications team, we have already discussed and actioned some important school topics that the children are concerned about. These have ranged from the increase in the cost of paper and what we can do as a school to keep the cost down to how we can improve behaviour on the playground.

The weeks question is updated each week and given to adults to action. Our children feel they are heard and know they can make sensible contributions to our school community.
