Attendance
Our soft start means the school day begins between 8.30 and 8.40am and registration closes at 8.50am. Any child arriving after that time receives a late mark. It is important that all pupils attend school regularly and on time. Children who are late are often embarrassed when they arrive in class and this has an impact on their ability to learn for the rest of the morning. Children who are late should report to the main school office with their parents so that registration can take place. It is the parent's responsibility to ensure that a reason for absence is given.
Please call the school office to notify us of absence for any reason. Please also call if you know your child will be late into school.

Persistent Absentees
In line with government requirements, our school attendance team monitors individual children with attendance under 95%. A child with attendance under 90% is known as a persistent absentee. It is really important that children are in school as much as possible in order to achieve their full potential. Research has shown that children who are persistently absent do not make as much progress as their peers who are in school. Our attendance team also monitors children who are frequently late. We send out regular communication to notify parents if their child's attendance has slipped below 95% or if a child is frequently late to school.
If you or your child has any worries or concerns about school, please speak to either your child's teacher, a member of the Senior Leadership Team or the Willows. There are always staff members outside in the morning at drop off that you can speak to. We can work together to help maintain a positive attendance record for your child.
