Red Kites - Yr5

Welcome to Red Kites!

Hello all and welcome to the Red Kites Class page. I hope you enjoy looking at what we have been learning and are going to be learning. Also, keep an eye out for any picture updates of our learning.

What we learnt in Term 4 was that good, we are going to be finishing off 'Plots and Protests' for the first 3 weeks of Term 5!

This terms topic focus is Plots and Protests.

Our learning question is, 'What is the cost of a protest and what has been gained from them in the past?' Within this topic, the children will be given the opportunity to explore historical plots and protests that have taken, as well as protests that continue to take place in the present. During the topic, some of the key events and people the children will be looking at include:

  • Martin Luther King
    • Civil Rights
  • Rosa Parks
    • Civil Rights
  • Greta Thunberg
    • Climate Change
  • Guy Fawkes
    • The Gun Powder Plot
  • Emily Pankhurst
    • The Suffragettes
    • Votes for Women
  • National Education Union
    • Teacher strikes
  • Equal Rights

Welcome back, Red Kites, to the Summer Term!

I cannot believe that we are already in the Summer Term; where has the time gone? I am really excited to welcome you all back to yet another fun term where we can continue our learning journey together. If there is anything you wish to discuss with us, our door is always open.

Our learning question is, 'How is the world making progress to be able to travel to space and what are the cost?'
