School Lunch Information

School Lunch Time Arrangements

School Meals

School lunches are available each day at a cost of £2.44  from a company called Dolce. Orders and payments for school lunches are to be made directly with Dolce using a system called School Grid. When you join Willowcroft Community School you will be sent information on how to activate your account for School Grid via your email address.

Packed Lunches

We are a Healthy School and expect all lunches to contribute to this ethos. An example of a healthy lunch may be a sandwich, salad or pasta pot, a cereal bar and a piece of fruit. Children who have healthy lunches are able to concentrate better in the afternoon.  If children eat too much sugary food at lunch they can become irritable and have difficulty concentrating in class.

Please note that as we currently have children in school with severe nut allergies, we ask that you provide ‘nut free’ lunches.  This includes peanut butter.

Chocolate bars and sweets are also not allowed in school.

All children are supervised in the dining hall and are encouraged to eat as much as they are comfortable with. If you are concerned about any aspect of school food or your child’s lunchtime please speak to their class teacher.

Benefit Related Free School Meals

These are available to children from families who are receiving Income Support or Job Seekers’ Allowance. If you need further information or an application form, please contact the School Office.

Universal Infant School Meals

All Key Stage1 pupils are entitled to universal free school meals. This means that all children in Frogs, Dragonflies, Squirrels, Hedgehogs, Robins and Owls are entitled to a free school dinner and these should be ordered through School Grid in the usual way.
