We are very excited to be starting another school year and getting to share it with the Otterly amazing Otters. We are looking forward to seeing what this school year brings and working with our new class. If there is anything you would like to talk about or need to ask a question, our door is always open.

  • KS2 Gold Book Assembly is on alternate Thursdays at 2:30pm.

Friday 3rd October - Times Table Rockstar Day! 

Wednesday 15th October - Sibling photo day

Friday 24th October - End of Term 

Tuesday 4th November - Start of Term

Wednesday 5th November - Egyptian day (dress up - optional)

Wednesday 19th November - Online Parents' Evening

Thursday 20th November - In Person Parents' Evening

Friday 28th November - Christmas Fair

Friday 4th December - Pantomine

Friday 19th December - End of Term (1pm finish)

 

Home Learning Tasks

To help support the children with their learning at home, we are encouraging them to complete the following short home tasks each week. This will be set on Friday's and checked the following Friday. 

 

  • Reading - Children need to read 5 times a week and record this in their Reading Records. We check this on Fridays.
  • Spelling practice of 8 words each week. These words come from the statutory words for Year 4 and These words will be tested on Fridays. 
  • TTRS - Children are encouraged to complete 15 minutes of TTRS a week. This is set weekly and is scheduled on TTRS to appear at 3pm every Friday and will be available until the following Friday at 8am. We always have sheets available for those that are unable to access TTRS online. 

PE

PE is on Fridays. Please make sure to send the children into school wearing their PE kits. This term, we will be doing PE outside as much as possible so please ensure appropriate clothing for the weather. 

 

Swimming

Our swimming sessions begin on 10th March to the 21st April on Tuesdays.

· Girls – Swimming costume (no bikinis)

· Boys – Swimming trunks or shorts (no long shorts)

· Swim cap (available for purchase from the school office for £1)

· Towel

· Waterproof bag

Please ensure all swimming kit is marked with your child’s name.

 

Multiplication Check

In the Summer Term, the children in Year 4 will complete the Multiplication Check. This check is an online test where the pupils are asked 25 questions on the times tables up to 12 x 12. For each question, the children are given 6 seconds to answer. We have linked some websites below that the children can go on at home to help them practice their fluency in times tables.
