Welcome to Kestrels!

Hello all and welcome to the Kestrels Class page.

Happy New Year to you all. I hope you enjoy have all had a wonderful Christmas holiday and are ready to continue on our learning journey in 2026. This term, we will be continuing with our Swimming lessons. We will be doing our final three sessions. We will also be starting our new Topic for the term, which is the Ancient Greeks. If you have any questions or things you want to run past me, then please just pop and see me at drop off or pick. 

I cannot wait to get stuck back into our learning.

Here is all the important information that you need to know for the upcoming term but if there is anything you need clarification on, please come and speak to us. 

  • School gates open at 8:30
  • School finishes at 3:10pm
  • KS2 Gold Book Assembly is every other Thursday 
  • PE is on a Wednesday  (inside)
  • Homework is handed out on a Friday and is due back the following Friday
    • Homework consists of:
      • 15mins of times table practice on TTRS.
      • Reading, where they should be completing 5-reads a week and record these on either Boom Reader or in their reading journal.

Swimming Sessions

  • Kestrels will have five swimming sessions this year, two before Christmas and three in January. The dates for the five sessions are as follow:
    • Third session = Tuesday 6th January 
    • Fourth session = Tuesday 13th January 
    • Fifth session = 20th January

  • 5th February - Class Photos
  • 13th February - Non-uniform Day
  • 13th February - End of Term
