Changes to drop off arrangements from Monday 5th October
We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding with drop offs and pickups. This has been working well so far, but will not be so easy now the colder, wetter weather is upon us. We are also aware that we have a lot of parents waiting in the cage area which is not ideal, especially in bad weather.
We were planning to implement changes from Monday, however this morning we changed the organisation at the last minute due to the heavy rain. This worked very well so we are optimistic about Monday.
Planning for pick up and drop off for so many children is a logistical nightmare and we will rely on you to maintain social distancing between adults, and also keeping your children with you until they are ready to go to class.
We would remind you to wear a mask if you are stood within 2 metres of another adult who is not in your household and whenever you are speaking to a member of staff.
Morning drop off
We will have a soft start for years 4, 5 and 6. This means you can bring your child to school from 8.30 until 8.50. Please arrive through the same gate as usual and walk your children to the edge of the playground. Your child can then leave you at the edge of the playground and walk independently round to their classes. It is important that we limit the time adults are on the playground so we ask you to just drop and go (imagine we have a travellator running through the playground, like in the airport :0)
Younger children
Caterpillars and Tadpoles
This will remain the same as before. NO CHANGE.
Frogs and Dragonflies
8.40 drop off – remains the same – NO CHANGE.
Squirrels and Hedgehogs
8.30 drop off – please walk your child to the hall under the canopy (NOT THE PLAYGROUND). Teachers will be in the hall ready to meet your child. Please drop and go as quickly as possible.
Owls and Robins, Rabbits and Foxes
8.50 drop off as usual. Please arrive through the same gate as usual and walk your children to the edge of the playground. Your child can then leave you at the edge of the playground and walk independently round to their class. It is important that we limit the time adults are on the playground so we ask you to just drop and go (imagine we have a travellator running through the playground, like in the airport J)
Badgers and Otters
We will have a soft start for Year 4. This means you can bring your child to school from 8.30 until 8.50. Please arrive through the same gate as usual and walk your children to the edge of the playground. Your child can then leave you at the edge of the playground and walk independently round to their classes. It is important that we limit the time adults are on the playground so we ask you to just drop and go (imagine we have a travellator running through the playground, like in the airport J)
Red Kites, Falcons, Ravens and Eagles
NO CHANGE
VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: If you have a child in Reception or Year 1 and you also have older children you can drop the older children at the same time. The older children can walk independently to class and a teacher will be waiting for them in the classroom.
Changes to pick up are under review so please bear with us and we will let you know as soon as we have a manageable system. For now, pick up remains the same.
Contact with teachers
As contact with class teachers is now very limited we would ask that you send messages on dojo. There will always be adults on the playground who are able to pass urgent messages or contact the office via phone or e-mail.
Many thanks
Jane Hemery and Amanda Doy
