Welcome to the Lynx Class!
This year the brand new Lynx class is being taught by Miss Hague and Mrs Coakley and our teaching assistant is the wonderful Miss Paynter!
We are really looking forward to welcoming you all back and starting Term 2 with a bang!
This term we will be exploring the topic - 'The Victorians'.
The Lynx class will be learning all about this vital part of Britain's history through Literacy, maths, D&T, history, science and P.E.
In particular, we will be looking at how children lived back then in comparison to how children live now, Queen Victoria, her reign and how the industrial revolution shaped our lives today.
They will be looking at writing newspapers, looking at the book 'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens, developing their skills through addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in maths, learning how to sew and investigating all about the Victorians and how their impact shaped our lives today.
This term will we be doing plenty of P.E. and dance every Tuesday and throughout the rest of the week, so please make sure P.E. kits are brought in and kept in on their cloakroom pegs.
We will be starting swimming this term, so please make sure your children have their swimming kits (swimsuits, googles, swimming hats and towels) in every Monday ready for Thursday.
Please feel free to pop in either in the morning or after school if you have any concerns. Both Miss Hague and Mrs Coakley will be more than happy to help in any way they can.
Homework will be consisted of spellings, reading and MyMaths. These will be set every Friday and expected to be completed every Monday.
